This was such a fun and chaotic kid adventure story.

The book follows a foster child who’s constantly having a rough time because of his strange “gift” — breaking things. But what seems like bad luck quickly turns into something much bigger when he’s thrown into a hidden war between his family and… evil librarians.

Honestly, the concept alone is hilarious.

Each member of his family has their own strange but surprisingly useful talent, which made the adventure feel creative and entertaining the entire way through. The story moves quickly, the humor lands well, and it has that over-the-top imaginative energy that makes middle grade fantasy so much fun to read.

It’s quirky, adventurous, and full of ridiculous moments in the best way.
