Cozy Fantasy, Magical Plants, and a Talking Spider Plant? Yes Please.

This book was such a cozy mix of magic, books, gardening, and just a little bit of romance — basically a combination of so many of my favorite things.

A mix of magic books, gardening, and a little bit of romance. I was worried the book was going to be all about horses because of the horses, but it is not. They are really quite a side piece to the full story personally, I think the Mer horses add nostalgia for both of the characters, as well as being comical.

I always enjoy a side character in this case the talking spider plant, I especially enjoy it when they have a little bit of doomsday attitude about them. It’s always fun to hypothetically think of what if we went once further but what if?

I do wish that our main girl was a little bit calmer when it comes to people strangers being around I get the reason in the beginning, but in the story, honestly people really accepted the remedies rather quickly. I think people would’ve bought anything if it helped at the time as bought into any idea as long as it worked.

These men have to put in time and effort. This man built her shelves. He fed her. He encouraged her. He checked up on her, and she was a bristly little cactus. It’s a wonderful idea. But in real life if you’re mean to people, they probably won’t keep coming back so maybe that part was a little unrealistic but the rest of it. I loved it unrealistic when I’m talking about how much I love a house plant that talks, I know, double standard.

A very much enjoyed this cozy fantasy. It had a mix of all of my favorite things sprinkled with a light romance. It is a book that I will probably listen to an audible again.
