The reading roll a thon is the game that I created a few years ago to encourage me to read some serious pages. You start off by picking 3 to 5 books that is your TBR pile, Monday through Saturday we roll a D 100 that is a dice that has 100 sides and that will tell us how many pages we have to read for that day could be 100 could be one could be anything in between.
Sunday is a catch-up day. We do not roll but by 4 PM we have to stop reading and answer to the book jail. For every 50 pages that were not read by Sunday at 4 PM. We pull out an envelope from the book jail board. Each envelope has a random prompt. It could be adding another book to the TBR pile. It could be adding an additional role to the following week. It could be taking away a Sunday no catch-up day so we want to avoid a book jail at all costs.
The ultimate goal of the game is to complete the TBR pile completely as in read all of the books in the pile the initial ones that you picked as well as any that you got from the book jail by the end of the four weeks
I found this game to be not only helpful with habit forming, but it really does get you back into reading if you’re in a slump and there have been times I have been completely buried by the TBR and there was no way out. It could go many different ways.
Looking forward to sharing my battle with the tbr pile, would love you to join in the game.
Please, Comment below what you’re reading and if you’ve had to answer to the book jail board yet.
